• Former Bulldog Rob Bordson was traded recently, from the Anaheim organization to Philly. It sounded like it wasn't working out for him in Syracuse. Per Syracuse's assistant GM:

"He gives us an honest effort. Rob had trouble putting up numbers. To this point, it hasn't happened. It hasn't been because of a lack of effort. He definitely has a chance of being an NHL player someday.''

•  What do you think the NCAA's profits were from five corporate logos on half of a court? If the NCAA is going to continue to bastardize college athletics with lucrative corporate sponsorships, then it's completely hypocritical and absurd to continue to not allow players to get paid.
• CFL cheerleaders everyone! Those are some sexy parkas. I wouldn't be surprised to see the UMD football cheerleaders rocking parkas soon, given how cold last weekend's game was.
• Reporter almost gets crushed by a Zamboni mid-report, but remains unfazed. That's some impressive poise.
• Blake Griffin put together an epic collection of dunks against the Knicks. Amare Stoudemire approves.

Picture of the Week: The Most Canadian Picture of All-Time: Mulleted, Mustachioed Hockey Players Sporting Denim Jerseys

• It seems like every week the Boston Globe's Big Picture comes out with a new batch of amazing photos. This week's photo gallery of the havoc Mount Merapi has wreaked on Indonesia was no exception.
• This is why Cal Clutterbuck is my favorite player on the Wild. Takes out two skaters with a big hit, gets up and scores. Also, his amazing stache:

• Who knew that bears were such good climbers? And that "Hey, what are you doing here?" is an effective way to scare them?
• The Heat & the Hopeless is an ongoing feature that follows the Miami Heat and the Timberwolves all season. It's authored by SBNation's Andrew Sharp, who, in my opinion, is the best young (25 & under) sportswriter out there. This week's edition was pretty funny, especially Kevin Love's failed handshake with Wesley Johnson.
• It's probably not a huge surprise that Lebron and DWade teamed up for the best highlight of the season so far.
• Video of the Week - Mike Hoeffel has a long way to go before he can Dougie better than John Wall.

I love the internet. I also spend way too much time wading through all of its filth trying to find nuggets of gold. Here's what I found this week:

• Picture of the Week: Injured Bison Running for his Life - More pictures of the epic chase

• Yesterday I mentioned how hard Dylan Olsen's shot was, but he has a long way to go to beat Brad Richards.
• Alex Ovechkin scores two times in 12 seconds. That's the same amount he scored in four career Game 7s.
• We have some competition for best car ever. Duluth's own convertible van.
• As someone who studied abroad in England for a year, this doesn't surprise me at all. Note: I don't personally have anything against gays, just saying English guys tend to be very 'metrosexual' and lame.
• I bet the Stewart/Colbert rally last weekend was a madhouse. Wish I could've gone, because I thought the signs were great. 
• YouTube Video of the Week - Insane HS Sports Announcers go Insane. I'd love to hear Bruce Ciskie do this sometime.

• Why there shouldn't be a professional hockey team in Arizona.
• I love gifs. If you do too check out a bunch of Jersey Shore gifs and Ozzie Guillen miming a bunt hit attempt by David Ortiz.
• I liked this video of a camera getting absolutely destroyed by a puck during a Rangers game last week.
• A handy guide to all of the post-Rick Rypien outrage.
• The 20 best Sports Illustrated football covers from over the years. Jack Lambert (#11) FTW.
• An LA Times writer Steve Lopez got super baked on some Train Wreck and then drove around an obstacle course for police research with Proposition 19 about to go to vote.

• UMD equipment manager Chris Garner is undergoing extensive medical treatment for a condition called myelodysplastic syndrome. There will be an online auction comprised of 82 jerseys and over 20 autographed sticks to help him pay for his medical bills. If you're a hockey memorabilia collector, or know someone who is, make sure to check it out. It starts October 24th at obermanauction.com
• Best car ever? Best car ever.
• The New York Islanders may allow Hofstra University students to produce, edit, and even do color commentary for their radio broadcasts this season. I love it. The Islanders save money and students get a shot at the big leagues. It seems as though there are simultaneously more and less opportunities in journalism these days, if that makes any sense.
• Two great Tumblrs: Angry Haikus and HolyMauryMotherofGod.
• The Insane Clown Posse is an endless source of fascination for me. This story peeled back the stupid face paint and revealed that they really are just dumb white trash. Somehow I feel really bad for them though.
